NMS splits with Webb

Both Nevada Middle School girls basketball teams opened their seasons against Webb City Monday.
The eighth-grade A-team lost to Webb City, 39-34 in double overtime.
Heidi Wilson and Taylor Means led the Lady Tigers with 10 and 11 points, respectively.
Webb City won the game at the free-throw line by hitting 23 of 41 attempts while Nevada was 6 of 20 at the line.
"We lost the battle of the free-throws," Nevada coach Chris Garzone said.
In the B-team game, Nevada won 31-15.
Jessica Harper and Kori Lowery each had eight points to lead all scorers for Nevada in the B-game.
The seventh-grade teams had the same result with the A-team losing to Webb City and the B-team winning.
The eighth-grade team is in action again Thursday at Neosho.
The seventh-graders are not in action again until Monday.
