Louise Gratiot Jackson
Louise Gratiot Jackson, 99, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at her residence in Paris, Texas. She was born Feb. 11, 1905, in North Little Rock, Ark., the daughter of Rene J. and Sally Rozelle Protho Gratiot. She was a graduate of Cottey College and was a member of the PEO Sisterhood and also graduated from the former University of Kansas in Pittsburg, Kan., with a degree in business and economics. She also won numerous academic honors while teaching math and economics in Little Rock, Ark.
Survivors include her son, Hayden Jackson, and his wife, Mary; grandchildren, Katherine Jackson, Gene Jackson and his wife, Gretchen Shannon; and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan and Jacob Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hinton Jackson, in 1950; her daughter, Sally J. Self; and her twin sister.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home in Paris, Texas. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, in Newton Burial Park with C.K. Warden officiating with local arrangements under the direction of Evergreen Memorial Chapel. Lieselotte Evans
Lieselotte Evans, 79, Bronaugh, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born May 11, 1925, in Bamberg, Germany, to Eugene Herbrand and Maria Alt Herbrand. She married Donald D. Evans on Jan. 21, 1952, in Bamberg, Germany, and he survives of the home.
Following her marriage, she came back with her husband to live in Bronaugh in 1952. They also lived in Temple, Texas, and Houston, Texas, during her husband's time in the service. She became a U.S. Citizen in Joplin, in 1955. She returned to Bronaugh in 1980 where she has lived ever since. She was a member of the Liberal, Mo., Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to her husband, Donald, include one daughter, Linda Nunley, Bronaugh; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one sister; and three grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with John Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kan. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Georgia Esther Bruton Kyle
Georgia Esther Bruton Kyle, 81, Nevada, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. She was born Jan. 19, 1923. She was married Nov. 22, 1982, in Oklahoma to Ira Jack Kyle. He preceded her in death May 21, 2000.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m., today, Nov. 2, at Welch Cemetery in Webster County, Mo., with the Rev. Bob Dillion officiating. Interment was in Welch Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
Juanita Irene Brooks
Juanita Irene Brooks, 86, died Oct. 29, 2004. Services were held at Ferry Funeral Home on Nov. 1, at 2 p.m., with Tom Haynes officiating. Prayer was offered by Leon Shumaker. Musicians were Kara Brack, Mike Garrison and Sonya Pappas. Musical selections were "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder," "Precious Memories" and "Sweet By and By." Pallbearers were James Garrison, Mile Garrison, Leon Shumaker, Jonathan Garrison, Robert Benn and Mason Benn. Honorary pallbearers were John Brack, Alex Pappas, Luther Parham, James Ferguson, Harold Shumaker, Steve D. Brooks, Timmy Drumeller and Loyd E. Brooks Jr. Interment was in Lawrence Cemetery in Hume.
