The Cottey College theater department will produce an original play, "Chattanooga," by Carol Wright Krause based on an actual incident during the Civil War when 18 women faced ambiguous charges before a federal military court in Chattanooga, Tenn. Above, the women take stock of how much fabric is available to assist with their escape as they discuss using their petticoats to make a rope to lower themselves from a third-floor hotel room where they are being held. Cast members are Sarah L. Burtch, Arica Ebersold, Sara Stambaugh, Courtney Brown, and Teresa Feldmann. Not pictured, Noela Akah. The play will be presented at 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 19, and Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for children. The play will also be presented Tuesday Nov. 23 for area high school students free of charge.
