The Cottey Comets lost their final two games last week before beginning a winter break that will last almost a full month.

The Comets were playing at the North Central Missouri College Classic in Trenton, where they fell to both the host school and to the Central Methodist junior varsity.

Friday they played Central Methodist JV and the final score was 67-50.

The Comets had 10 different players in the scorebook, and were led by Carol Humphries, who had 13 points. Jessie Puskar also pitched in with five points and a team-high nine rebounds.

Central Methodist jumped out to a 42-19 lead by halftime and the Comets did all they could to get back into the game.

Saturday the Comets played the host North Central Missouri College.

Playing without Jessica Porter the entire tournament, the Comets were again overmatched, as they lost 75-55.

Cottey did hit a season-high seven three-pointers, but it was not enough.

The Comets were led Saturday by Puskar's 13 points, while Katy Taylor had 11 and Adriana Futrell had 10.

Cottey fell to 4-10, and will not play again until the spring semester, with their next game on Jan. 15.
