Nevada youth wrestlers place

The Nevada Youth Wrestling Club went to Belton over the weekend and came home with eight medals among the 13 wrestlers who participated.

Tanner Charles won first place, Jacob Johnson, Slade Stiles, Zach Shepherd and Nicholas Conner each received second place while True Beisly, Daxtyn Osburn and Sam Ellifrits each placed.

The novice tournament was Sunday, with Caleb Shanks, Trevor Hunholz, Stiles and Beisly each getting first place, Osburn and Regar Hardin got second and Chance Mays, Colby Smith, Dylan Hyder, Colby Charles, Chandler Bird, Tristan Smith and Shepherd also placing.

The next tournament for the club is Saturday at Joplin and Sunday at Raymore-Peculiar.

The team will host a meet in Nevada on Sunday, Jan. 16.
