William (Bill) Phelps

William (Bill) Phelps, 81, Rich Hill, died Dec. 25, 2004. He was born May 4, 1923, the son of Margaret (Maggie) Powell and Lafayette Phelps. He married Betty Lou (Wilkins) Phelps on Aug. 27, 1946.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty; two sons, William Richard and Elmer Eugene Phelps; and one granddaughter, Jennie Phelps. He is survived by four sons, Raymond (Billy) Phelps, Rich Hill, Bradley Phelps, Rich Hill, Larry Phelps, Montrose, Mo., and David Phelps, Rich Hill; six daughters, Wanda Nickerson, St. Louis, Mo., Mae Heckadon, Rich Hill, Kathie Covell, Stockton, Tony Campbell, Rich Hill, Glenna (B.B.) Black, Rich Hill, and Nancy Gilkey, Rich Hill; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Services were held on Dec. 29, 2004, at 11 a.m., at the Heuser Funeral Home with Bill Perkey officiating. Pallbearers were David Nickerson, Brad Phelps, Mike Phelps, Brian Phelps, William Phelps and Michael Black. Interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery in Rich Hill. Arrangements were by Heuser Funeral Home in Rich Hill.
