Comedy and Pet Theatre show performs Feb. 1 at Cottey College
Nevada Daily Mail
Gregory Popovich's Comedy and pet theatre, billed as a "comedy show, pet show and circus, rolled into one show of family fun" will be at Cottey College on Feb. 1, with the curtain rising at 8 p.m., in the auditorium of the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts.
In this one-of-a-kind show, every animal on stage has been rescued from an animal shelter. During the performance, viewers will see trained house cats perform alongside dogs, birds and white mice. The New York Times calls Gregory Popovich "The Baryshnikov of juggling." Jay Leno says this is the funniest circus act he's ever witnessed.
Popovich, the child of Russian circus performers, began learning the art of juggling at the age of six. He became a member of the Great Moscow Circus Group at the age of 17, traveling with the circus for years.
In 1991, he was invited to join the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, performing his juggling act in the center ring. Subsequently, he was invited to Las Vegas as a featured performer at the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino.
Tickets for Comedy and Pet Theatre are $8 for adults and $6 for those younger than age 18 or older than age 62. Tickets are available at the door the evening of the performance.
The Center for the Arts is on the northeast corner of Austin and Tower Streets in Nevada.
