Nevada gets high marks in ROTC drill meet

On Saturday, Nevada High School's Jr Air Force ROTC hosted an all-day drill meet and a fund-raising breakfast. Several schools participated from throughout the region. Nevada scored well in the event, taking first place in four events. Schools had different teams for various types of competition throughout the day, including color guard performance, infantry drill without weapons, infantry drill with weapons, individual drill down, exhibition drill without weapons and exhibition drill with weapons.

Single exhibition
First place, Cadet Kody Ellifrits, Nevada; second place, Cadet Callahan, Neosho; third place, Cadet Jevon Putnam, Nevada.
Dual exhibition
First place, Cadets Jennifer Trautman and Hannah Swopes, Nevada; second place, Cadets Kody Ellifrits and Travis Smith, Nevada; third place, Cadets Stewart and Wells, Neosho.
First Year Marchers, first place, Lee's Summit; second place, Lee's Summit North; third place, Blue Springs.
