Workers dismantle aged structure

Thursday, January 27, 2005

Mennonite workers steadily dismantled the Hornback House at the corner of Ash and Washington in Nevada on Wednesday. These workers are helping to move a ladder so that a worker can salvage the stained glass windows that adorn the second story on the west side of the building. The building, which was purchased by First Christian Church, is to be torn down to make more parking available to church-goers. Church officials said that the building had extensive damage and that restoration would have been too costly an option. The workers are also removing a house two doors south of the Hornback House for the same purpose.
