Sandra "Sandi" Sue Powers

Sandra "Sandi" Sue Powers, 64, of Columbia passed away Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at University Hospital.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a service at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, with the Rev. Dean Baxter officiating.

Sandi was born April 30, 1940, in Bonne Terre, Mo., to Russell Wayne and Opal Bernice Good. Her extended family included close friends, and the co-workers and students at the University of Missouri cashiers office.

Survivors include her much beloved family which include her son Lt. Col. John W. and Loriann Powers of Cabot, Ark., and daughter Donna Sue Thompson-Baxter and husband Ron Baxter of Columbia, Mo. She thrived on all of her grandchildren Matt, Kyle, Kelsey, Justin, and Brandon and loved them dearly, as they love her. Surviving sisters include Sharon Mecklem of Santa Fe, N.M., Judy Warren of Chanute, Kan., and Nancy Oldham of Nevada.

Preceding her in death were her mother, father, and brother.
