The Hume Hornets had to settle for sixth place in the Golden Valley/Vernon County Conference tournament, as they fell to Calhoun in the fifth-place game Saturday in Butler.
The Hornets got 17 points from James Salters and 10 from Clayton Brooks but it was not enough to get by Calhoun, as they lost 52-44.
Calhoun opened a 36-21 lead going into the fourth quarter, when Hume made a run. Unfortunately the run started too late and the Hornets were turned away.
