Lady Hornets beat Calhoun in Hume

The Hume Lady Hornets defended their home court against Calhoun Tuesday, winning 39-33.

Kayla Orear led Hume with 16 points and Nicole Hinton added 11 as they came from behind in the fourth period to get the victory.

Calhoun led 27-25 going into the fourth quarter, but Hume outscored the visitors 14-6 in the final period to improve their record to 13-9.

Katie Sneed, Janine Castillo and Hinton each had four rebounds to pace Hume.

Katie Wilcockson led Calhoun with 13 points.

The win came on the heels of a 48-32 loss to Drexel on Monday.

In that game Drexel jumped out to a 20-4 lead in the first quarter and were up the rest of the way.

Hume got it as close as four points in the second half but could not complete the comeback.

Hume was also led in that game by Orear's 16 points. Hinton and Castillo each scored six for Hume.

Cindy Murdock led the team in rebounds against Drexel, pulling down five.

Drexel was led by Ashley Musick, who scored 16.

The Lady Hornets will be in action again Friday when they travel along with the boys' team to Ballard.
