Henrich sues Missouri Pacific
Emil Heinrick, the young German boy found in an unconscious condition on the Missouri Pacific right of way north of Nevada on Jan. 23, has filed suit against the Missouri Pacific Railway Company for $6,200 actual and $3,000 punitive damages.
Heinrich in his petition states that he purchased a railroad ticket at Kansas City for passage to Carthage and that he was a lawful passenger on the southbound train. He alleges that the conductor kicked him off of the train at a point five miles north of Nevada while the train was moving rapidly and that he suffered permanent injuries to his head and the left side of his body.

Thieves make off with $869 from bank vault
Burglars last night entered the Farmers Bank in Walker for the second time in five months. More successful than in a Sept. 14, 1954, fruitless attempt, last night's culprits made off with an estimated $869 from the bank's vault as well as a .38-caliber Colt revolver, which was kept under the cashier's window.
Bank Cashier H.H. Cherry discovered the loss at about 8:45 o'clock this morning when he opened the bank for business and immediately notified Sgt. Tom Loy of the Missouri Highway Patrol, Vernon County Sheriff Les Hunt and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
