100 years ago:

Feely jury failed to reach a verdict

The Feely murder trial came to a close this afternoon when the trial jury reported to Judge Fox that they could not agree on a verdict. The is the second trial and resulted the same as the first. No doubt Mr. Feely and his devoted wife and indulgent father were disappointed. They expected a verdict for acquittal. However a hung jury twice is very favorable to Mr. Feely.

75 years ago:

Chamber dinner Thursday evening to feature Nevada schools

The program to be given at the monthly Chamber of Commerce dinner Thursday evening at the First Methodist Church, will be given by students in the Nevada schools. The high school will give several numbers and each grade building will give a feature. The schools are being featured this month not only at the dinner but also in the monthly magazine "Nevada's Business" which will be out soon. The dinner will be served at 6:30 o'clock.

50 years ago:

El Dorado Springs woman suffers broken leg

Mrs. Melvin Potter, El Dorado Springs, was admitted to the Nevada Hospital yesterday afternoon suffering from a broken leg incurred in a farmyard accident.

Mrs. Potter's physician said today Mrs. Potter was helping to pull some pipe from a well when a beam from the machinery fell, striking and breaking her right leg.
