Lurline Lindley Ford
Lurline Lindley Ford, 76, Sheldon, peacefully passed away Thursday, March 31, 2005, at the home of her daughter in Columbia. She was born Jan. 12, 1929, in Sheldon, the daughter of Warren Benjamin Lindley and Hazle DeVenney Lindley.
She was a 1946 graduate of Sheldon High School and attended Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield. Mrs. Ford resided in Washington, New York, California, Germany, and the Panama Canal Zone prior to returning to Sheldon in 1961 to make her home with her children. She was employed by the Sheldon R-8 School as secretary to the superintendent/bookkeeper for over 34 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Sheldon Christian Church.
Lurline is survived by one daughter, Linda Hayes and her husband, Clayton, Columbia, Mo.; two sons, Michael Ford, Gloucester, Va., and John Ford and his wife, Shiela, Lamar; one brother, Clinton Lindley and his wife, Arlene, Leawood, Kan.; two sisters, Beth Wileman, Princeton, Mo., and Betty Anne Dockery and her husband, Dean, Sugarland, Texas; five grandchildren, Lara Hayes and Nicolas Hayes, both of Chicago, Ill., Albert Ford of Gloucester, Va., and Grant Ford and Pierce Ford, both of Lamar; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Howard Lindley and Robert Lindley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, at Sheldon Christian Church, Sheldon, with the Rev. Andrew Kirstner officiating. Interment will follow in Sheldon Cemetery, Sheldon. Friends may call now and until 5 p.m., on Monday at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family receives friends Monday 6-7 p.m. at the Sheldon Christian Church in Sheldon.
