Voters say yes to parks tax; council members elected

The Nevada Parks and Recreation sales tax passed overwhelmingly with more than 60 percent of the votes cast in favor of the measure. Results aren't official until certified by Vernon County Clerk, Tammi Beach.

Unofficial results of Nevada's municipal elections results show all incumbents returning in both the city council and R-5 school board.

Incumbents Bill Edmonds and Tim Moore, both running for a second term, return to the Nevada City Council with more than twice as many votes as their opponents.

"I'm very gratified that people have that much confidence in me and I'll sure do my best for the next three years," Edmonds said.
