Late Model heat race winners were Jack Simmons, Erie, Kan., and Donnie Timmerman, El Dorado Springs. Kenny Shaw gained the lead at the start of the feature. An original lineup restart was called for after Melvin Baxter and Shannon Phillips got together and spun. This time Mike Boultinghouse gained the lead at the start. Several spins brought out the yellow flag and each one closed the field behind Boultinghouse for the restart and each erasing Boultinghouse's lead on the field. Boultinghouse held on to the lead and claimed his first win of the season.

Modified heat race winners were Jeff Douty, Butler and Daniel Anders, Nevada. Charlie Lazor and Anders battled for the lead at the start of the B-Feature. Anders got the position and maintained it through two yellow flags. On the third restart with just one lap to go Danny Scrogham gained the lead and held it to collect the win. Scrogham, Anders, Douty, Charlie Lazor, Chris Prussman and Curt Houchen moved to the back of the A-Feature. Jeff Brockman gained the lead at the start of this feature. A yellow flew as Ron Bolin, Jr, Anders, Chris Prussman and several other cars all ended up going the wrong way on the track. This closed the field behind Brockman for the restart. Andy Claiborne tried several times to gain the lead but couldn't quite do it. Several more yellow flags flew which closed the field behind Brockman for the restart. The last of these was caused as Lazor, Anders, Mitch Keeter, Scrogham and Craig Wood all got together. Brockman was in the lead on the restart but this time Claiborne was able to gain the lead and then lost it to Kevin Morrow who went on to claim the win, his first of the season.

Street Stock heat race winners were Chris Rodabaugh, El Dorado Springs and Karl Lehmann, Nevada. Bobby Pearish got the lead at the start of the B-Feature. Darrin Dennison spun bringing out the yellow flag. On the restart Jerry Brown grabbed the lead but Pearish raced side by side with him around the track until Brown got sideways and Pearish was able to capture the lead. Pearish took the win and moved to the back of the A-Feature along with Brown, Darren Danner, Dusty Buerge and John Rice. Jerry Morgan and Lehmann raced side by side around the track as they raced for the lead. Morgan was able to take the position. Steve Shadden and Olin Wyland got together resulting in both cars going to the pits. Shadden made a quick tire change and returned to the track only the have the axle pull out and he had to be towed to the pits. Morgan got a strong challenge from Craig Spencer but was able to hold onto the lead and collect his first win of the season.

Factory Stock heat race winners were Craig Choate, Belton, Shawn Hendren, Nevada and Henry Whaley, Harrisonville. Eddie Coulter Jr. took the lead at the start of the B-Feature. Brian Welliver chased him down and bumped him as he took the lead but then went too high in the corner, which allowed Coulter to regain the lead. A yellow flew as Jesse Douty had engine problems and had to be pushed from the track. Coulter was in the lead for the restart and raced side by side with Welliver around the track on the final lap. At the flag Coulter got the win. Coulter, Welliver and Choate moved to the back of the A-Feature. Henry Whaley got the lead at the start of this feature. Claude Adams spun, clipping the leader and allowing Ken Layman to take the lead. Whaley was put back in the lead for the restart. He and Layman raced side by side around the track for several laps until Layman was able to again gain the lead. Layman collected his first win of the season.

Mini-Stock heat race winners were Mike Baxter, Sheldon and Brent Knight, Jasper. Knight got the lead at the start of the Feature. Floyd Weaver pulled to the pits in a cloud of smoke bringing out the yellow flag. Knight was in the lead for the restart. Allen Sanders scraped the wall, lost a bumper and then bounced into the second place car of Mark Godsey bringing out another yellow flag. Knight was again in the lead for the restart. Craig Burchette got into the wall and scraped all the way down bringing out another yellow flag. Knight was in the lead for the restart and held it through the balance of the race to collect the win, his first of the season.
