From H.E. Carpenter, of Sheldon, who was in Nevada, the Mail learned of the attempt of Mrs. Oliver Hatton to commit suicide at her home in Sheldon early Saturday morning. Hatton, who is about 55 years of age and a well-known and highly respected lady, attempted to end her life by drowning; but fortunately she was found in time to save her life.
When her children got up they missed their mother and began a search which terminated by the finding of their mother in a well near the house.
Assistance was called and Hatton was taken from the well. At that time she was unconscious.
