Nevada jumpers place first in Girard track meet

Nevada long jumper Harrison Gage and triple jumper Veronica Mosier both placed first at a track meet in Girard, Kan., Friday.
Gage won the boys' event with a jump of 21 feet.
Mosier won the girls' triple jump with a leap of 32-1 1/4.
Other high placings for Nevada in Girard included a second-place for the boys 3200-meter relay team of Mason Benn, Jim Fay, Curtiss Davis and Ben Wilson.
Placing third were Eric Atkinson in the high jump and Tim Williams in the pole vault.
Placing fourth were Mosier in the long jump, Nathan Gragg in the high jump, Amanda Wilson in the shot put, Brittany Pettibon in both the 100 and 200, and Jessica Ferree in the 100 hurdles.
Nevada's track team is in Anderson today for the Southwest Conference championships at McDonald County High School.
