Othel Floyd "Ted" Brooks
Othel Floyd "Ted" Brooks, 78, Rich Hill, died May 19, 2005, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
He was born at Arroll, Mo., to Flora (Taber) Brooks and George Brooks. He married Nancy Jo (Smith) Brooks on Aug. 31, 1952.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a truck driver for IML. He also worked as a van driver for Medicalodge of Nevada. He was a member of the American Legion in Rich Hill.
He is survived by four daughters, Jeanie McCrorey, Independence, Mo., Judy Cole, Rich Hill, Janice Heckadon, Rich Hill, and Connie Sigler, of the home; a sister, Irene Woolsey, Penrose, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy; two daughters, Casandra Faye Brooks and Carol Jean Baker; and all but one of his siblings.
Services were held May 22, at 2 p.m., at the Heuser Funeral Home with Bill Perkey officiating. Musical selections were "Daddy's Hands," "I'll leave this World Loving You" and "Love Me." Pallbearers were Kenny Dale Brooks, Josh Munsterman, Bryon Brooks, Dougie McCrorey, Kevin Brooks, Brad Tharp and Patrick Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Droz, Tommy Skinner, George Neill, Jim Sheddrick, Daryl Robinson and Denny Williams. Military rites were performed by American Legion Post No. 67. Interment was in Green Lawn Cemetery in Rich Hill. Arrangements were by Heuser Funeral Home.
