Jackie Ruth Bobbitt
Jackie Ruth Bobbitt, 77, of Lamar, died Monday, May 23, 2005, at Barton County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 14, 1927 in Lamar, to Charley B. and Maude P. (Berry) Perry. She married Dudley Mack Divine II on July 4, 1944, in Fort Scott, Kan., and he preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 1971. She then married Harold M. Bobbitt on Aug. 25, 1973, in Lamar and he died June 30, 2000.
She had worked as a sales lady for Nelly Don Fabric in Nevada. She was a member of the 20th Century Club and was active at the Lamar Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Deena Tharp, Green Forest, Ark., and Donna Meckfessel, Bella Vista, Ark.; one sister, Jo Thompson, Lamar; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death her son, Dudley Divine; four brothers, Charles Perry, Bob Perry, Floyd Perry and Marion Perry; and four sisters, Mary K. "Jimmie" Finley, Dorothy Marquardt, Marge Seitz and Thelma Webb.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 26, at Lake Cemetery, Lamar.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, at Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar. To honor her wishes, the casket will be closed.
