Local talent is on stage for SMSU summer Tent Theatre

SPRINGFIELD -- Southwest Missouri State University's annual summer crowd pleaser, Ten Theatre, will begin June 8 and run through July 17.

Allison Grizzle, Nevada, a junior theatre major, has been cast as the widow in "The Taming of the Shrew." Grizzle previously took part in the SMSU production "The Bear."

Grizzle is a 2002 graduate of Nevada High School and the daughter of Perry and Susan Grizzle.

This summer's performances include Strouse's "Bye Bye Birdie," June 8-11 and June 13-18; Wells and Bobbie's "A Grand Night for Singing," June 23-25 and June 27-July 2; and Shakespear's "The Taming of the Shrew," July 7-9 and July 11-17. All shows start at 8:15 p.m.
