Baseball award winners

The award winners from the 2005 Nevada Tigers baseball team were announced recently and (from left) Cody Thompson, David Hawks, Keith Overton and Andrew Quest were honored for their play. Thompson, a sophomore who pitched and also played outfield and first base, was named the Outstanding Offensive Player for the Tigers. Hawks, a senior, was named Outstanding Defensive Player for his play in the infield for the Tigers. Hawks played the majority of the games at second base in 2005. Overton received the Tough as Nails award for battling through numerous injuries to stay on the field for the Tigers. Overton, a junior, was the catcher for Nevada this season. Quest earned the Most Improved Player award.
