Holli Renae Cathey

Holli Renae Cathey, 30, Fort Scott, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005, in Allen County as the result of an automobile accident.

She was born Nov. 2, 1974, in Denver, Colo., the daughter of Ellis Spencer and Vikki Pickel Spencer. She married Steven Cathey in 1998.

She graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1993. She received a Bachelor's Degree in education in 1999 from Missouri Southern and a Master's Degree from Pittsburg State University in 2004. She was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. She taught seventh grade language arts at Iola Middle School. She was a member of Community Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Steven Cathey, Overland Park; and daughter, Rebecca Cathey; and parents, Ellis and Vikki Spencer, Fort Scott. Also surviving are several extended family members. She was preceded in death by her grandfather.

Funeral services will be held at Community Christian Church on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Kevin Moyers officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
