Jodene Swait

Jodene Swait, 62, Nevada, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at Lee's Summit Hospital, Lee's Summit, Mo., following a long battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 12, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo., to Kenneth K. Ketchum and Setta Nadine Wilhelm Ketchum. She married Jack 0. Swait on Jan. 12, 1987, in Miami, Okla., and he survives of the home.

Jodene was a graduate of Northeast High School, Kansas City, Mo., in 1961. She worked as a hair stylist and an instructor in Kansas City for a number of years. She had lived in Nevada since 1995. She had attended a Baptist church in Nevada.

Survivors in addition to her husband, Jack, include four sons., Phil Walsh, Port Charlotte, Fla., Jeff Walsh, Blue Springs, Mo., Joe Walsh, Blue Springs, and Jayson Walsh, Orlando:, Fla.; two stepsons, Kevin Swait and Darrin Swait, both of Nevada; 10 grandchildren; father, Kenneth Ketchum, Lawson, Mo.; one sister, Cynthia Glenn, Sedalia, Mo.; two brothers, Jim Ketchum, Lawson, and John Ketchum, Independence, Mo., numerous, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother and one sister, April Atkinson.

Funeral semiccs will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 5-6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 13, at the funeral home.
