Mary Jane Jenkins

Mary Jane Jenkins, 66, Joplin, Mo., formerly Bronaugh, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, in Meadows Care Center, Joplin, following a recent illness. She was born on Sept. 5, 1939, in McAllen, Texas, to Willard Savander and Sara Jane Major Jenkins.

Mary Jane grew up in the Eureka School District and graduated from Bronaugh High School, Bronaugh. She worked for a time as township tax collector, then went to live with her aunt, Marie VanBrundt. After Marie's death, she lived in residential homes. For the past several years she lived at Timber Ridge (now called Whispering Pine) in Joplin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, O.D."Bus" Jenkins.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 25, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Arcadia, Kan., with Justin Brodie officiating. Friends may call now through 8 p.m, Wednesday and after 8 a.m., on Friday until 1 p.m., at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
