Crowder reports busy holiday season
Nevada Daily Mail
Crowder College students got into the Christmas spirit this week with their traditional "Hanging of the Greens."
They have also planned a chili cookoff, to be held on Thursday, Dec. 8. Instructors will be preparing chili to compete in the contest and chili meals will be sold to students and the public from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Meals will feature a bowl of chili (plain) for $1 and $2 for a bowl that's loaded (cheese, chips, crackers). Pie will also be available for a nominal charge. Students have planned this event to help raise funds for their end-of-the year activities.
Open enrollment for Crowder College began this week and continues through the first week of classes, which start Jan. 9.
Area residents who are interested in taking classes are encouraged to call the Crowder office, (417) 667-0518, to make an appointment to start the enrollment process.
Five new instructors have been added to the adjunct faculty for the spring semester. Additional classes have been added to serve the increased enrollment at the Nevada Campus.
A reception is planned at the Nevada Campus on the 1311 for Nevada's December graduates. Graduates and their families, faculty, and students may attend and share in the refreshments and celebration, 6-6:30 p.m. The Outstanding Graduate Award will be presented during the event.
