Blaze forces JT Maloney's to close temporarily

Tuesday, December 6, 2005

Nevada Fire Department Lieutenant Kevin Scott reported that the department responded to a report of smoke coming out of JT Maloney's and quickly extinguished the fire. The fire was confined to the office and a storage area but water damaged other parts of the building. A water pipe in the ceiling of the storage area broke and contributed to the water damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Milo and Compton Junction Fire Departments responded to assist with personnel. Owner Alan Shepherd said he hoped to reopen by the weekend. "I have a lot of Christmas parties booked and I'd like to be able to take care of them," Shepherd said.
