Area teens injured in two traffic crashes

Three El Dorado Springs teenagers were hurt in an accident Thursday at approximately 4:30 p.m. A 1995 Ford driven by Frank Brumfield, 16, El Dorado Springs, was headed south on County Road 2600 when it went off the west side of the road. The driver overcorrected and the car went across the road and off the other side, overturned and struck a tree.

Brumfield was taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Two passengers were also taken to NRMC. James Byrant, 17, El Dorado Springs, was listed with moderate injuries and Michael Newcomb, 19, El Dorado Springs was listed with minor injuries, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Two Nevada teenagers were hurt Friday night at 11:15 p.m. on Pumphouse road north of Nevada. A 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Melissa Dobson, 17, was northbound when Dobson lost control of it and the Jeep skidded off the west side of the road and overturned.

Dobson told Corporal James Wilde of the Missouri Highway Patrol she would seek her own treatment for her injuries, which were listed as minor. A passenger in her Jeep, Ashley Gage, 17, Nevada, was taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
