Elva G. Semler

Elva G. Semler, 87, Mercer, Pa., died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at Woodland Place Nursing Home, Mercer, Pa. She was born Oct. 17, 1918, in Kansas City, Kan., to Samuel R. Barker and Pearl E. Bixby Barker. She was married to John F. Semler who preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1997.

Elva was a Methodist. She retired as a blue printer from Boeing Company of California.

Survivors include three daughters, Jeanette Dodson, California City, Calif., Ruth Blachley, Harbor, Wash., Kathy Rains and her husband, Tom, Mercer, Pa.; seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 12, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo, witht the Rev. Lester Thorton officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
