Bronaugh drops pair in Liberal tourney

The Bronaugh Wildcats lost two games at the Liberal Tournament this week, putting them in the seventh-place game Friday.
The Wildcats lost their tourney opener to Colgan, 51-20.
Bronaugh managed only eight first-half points against Colgan Tuesday, trailing 21-8 at the break.
In the second half the Wildcats fared a little better, but they were unable to make up any ground.
Nick Judd led the team with 11 points, the only scorer in double figures.
Colgan had a balanced scoring attack, led by Jeff Smith's 13.
In the consolation bracket it was a lot closer when the Wildcats took on Oswego Wednesday.
Bronaugh led most of the way, taking a 20-14 advantage into halftime.
In the third quarter it was still the Wildcats in charge, as they were up 27-20 going into the final period.
That's when Oswego made their move. They outscored Bronaugh 16-9 in the final quarter to force overtime, then rode that momentum to a 47-40 victory.
Will Daniels had 18 points to lead the Wildcats, including all four of Bronaugh's points in the extra period.
Joshua Shaw also was in double figures for the Wildcats, scoring 10 points.
Oswego had three players in double figures, led by Josh Riley's 15.
Bronaugh dropped to 4-8 this season with the loss, and they will play either Thomas Jefferson or the host Liberal in the seventh-place game.
The Lady Wildcats lost to Oswego Wednesday 59-46, despite Stormi Wilson's 21 points.
