NEVC Homecoming

The gymnasium at Northeast Vernon County at Walker was packed Friday evening for the basketball homecoming. Northeast lost both girls and boys varsity games to Calhoun. The cheerleaders, Tisha Bailey, Lacey McDannald, Dana Eslinger, Jessica Gose, Jessica Keightley, and Bethany Willman, performed at halftime of the varsity game. After the game, Sunny Bailey, freshman, was crowned homecoming queen. She is the daughter of Kevin Bailey and Tabitha Bailey, and was escorted by Cody Terry, son of Sonja and Ron Terry. Other candidates and their escorts were Mandy Unruh, senior, daughter of Janelle and Michael Williams and escort Ricco Sua, son of Tina and Richard Taylor; Dana Eslinger, junior, daughter of Rick and Diane Eslinger and escort Dexter Patton, son of Marty and Richard Patton; sophomore Darci Baer, daughter of Shelly and Robert Baer, and escort Cody Scott, son of Chris and Kelly Scott. Flower girl was Logan Goodman, daughter of Christy and Jared Goodman. The crown bearer was Wyatt Graves, son of Jodi and Andy Graves. Special thanks were given to Hackers Jewelry in Nevada, who donated a tiara for the queen; Jenise Burch for making the sashes, and everyone who helped make the 2006 homecoming a success. A dance was held after the coronation.
