The Ray-Pec Lady Panthers knocked off the Pleasant Hill Chicks in the nightcap of the opening day at the Nevada Lady Tiger Classic Monday, at Wynn Gymnasium.
Sara Pfister scored a game-high 22 points and the Lady Panthers won 57-54 in a hard-fought contest.
Ray-Pec jumped out to a 9-0 lead before Pleasant Hill went on a 10-0 run to go in front. From there neither team led by more than seven. The Lady Panthers were up 49-47 going into the final quarter and they didn't trail again.

Carthage scored the first 29 points in the tournament opener against Kansas City Southeast, then cruised to a 98-21 win.
Southeast scored the first basket of the second half and down 55-10, looked poised to make a run, but Carthage scored the next 24 points to end those hopes.
Meghan Waggoner led four players in double figures with 27 points for Carthage, while Southeast had only three players score. Jazmine McCallop led the Lady Warriors with nine.
