Beverly Benjamin "B.B." Fowler
Beverly Benjamin "B.B." Fowler, 91, rural Sheldon, Mo., died at 10:50 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at Nevada Regional Medical Center. Bev, the 10 child of Edward G. and Matilda Jane (Beisly) Fowler, was born Oct. 7, 1914, on the family farm where he lived his entire lifetime. On July 21, 1935, in Sheldon, he married Rose Elaine Daugherty. She preceded him in death on April 4, 1994.
In 1955, B.B. and his son, Gary, formed a farming partnership known as B.B. and Gary G. Fowler Farms which has continued for 50 years. B.B. was a member of Sheldon Christian Church, a 50-year member of Sheldon Lodge No. 371, AF & AM; a 50-year member of Sheldon Chapter No. 245, OES and a current member of Nevada Chapter No. 53, OES.
He was also a member of Nevada Chapter No. 56, Royal Arch, and O'Sullivan Commandery No. 15. For 50 years he was an agent/director for Vernon County Mutual Insurance Co. and recently retired as an agent for Missouri State Mutual.
Surviving are his son and daughter-In-law, Gary and Carolyn Fowler, and granddaughter Christy Fowler, Sheldon. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Dean Fowler; and one daughter, Ena Elaine Fowler Bryant; seven sisters, Mamie, Althea Jane, Nanna Belle, Bonna Faye, Verna Mae, Gladys Bernell and Georgia; also five brothers, Van, Nelson, Willis, Floyd and Clinton.
Services were on Tuesday, January 31, at 2 p.m., at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Burial followed in Sheldon Cemetery, Sheldon.
Pallbearers were Clint Fowler, Larry Fowler, Ed Fowler, Kerry Fowler, LaVerne Leininger and Gene Leininger. Honorary pallbearers were Albert Miller, John Young, Bill Hensley and Bill Kannady. Music was provided by Helen Leininger, Ed and Jeanie Fowler. Minister Andrew J. Kirshner officiated.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sheldon Christian Church or Sheldon Cemetery Association, in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
