Boy killed his mother

CAMPTON, Ky. -- Willis Hatton, the 7-year-old son of John Hatton, a farmer of Rogers, Ky., shot and killed his mother today because she spanked him.

After the mother had corrected the child he turned to her and said, "I'll kill you for that."

The boy took his father's pistol from a drawer and fired. The ball struck Mrs. Hatton in the right side.

Nevada now has had 13.5 in inches in '56

Two more inches of snow fell in the Nevada area last night and early today bringing the total snowfall for this vicinity to 13.5 inches since Jan. 17.

Throughout today intermittent snow fell and more rain and snow is forecast for today and tomorrow.

The latest fall contained .29 of an inch of moisture bringing the total precipitation for the year to 1.32 inches

The moisture has been a life saver to the wheat and pastures which were withering from the terrific dry fall and early winter months.
