Davisson arrested on new charges

Tuesday, February 14, 2006

Bonded out of the Butler jail on a $30,000 bond a Sheldon man, Kirk Davisson, was later arrested in Platte City on a Vernon County warrant charging him with the Class D felony of receiving stolen property and the Class C felony of invasion of privacy shortly afterward. Sheriff Ron Peckman said he obtained a search warrant and led a search in Davisson's residence that turned up a light-bar from an emergency vehicle as well as other evidence. Peckman also alleges that Davisson secretly taped a party at his home last summer.

Working on information provided by the Vernon County Sheriff's Office the Missouri Highway Patrol found Davisson in a Clay County motel the morning of Feb. 11. He was held in Clay County until picked up by Peckman later that morning.

Last week Davisson was arrested in Bates County when Butler police officers found a hidden camera in a tanning booth at Davisson's business on North Orange Street. Butler police did not find any pictures in the camera and the Butler police are asking anyone who has used the tanning booth to call police at (660) 679-6131.
