Mildred H. Fowler, 94, Sheldon, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center, Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born Dec. 1, 1911, in Barton County, Mo., to James Lee Norwood and Lula Mae McNary Norwood. She was married July 16, 1930, in Adrian, Mo., to Floyd Fowler. He preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 2004.

Mrs. Fowler was reared on the family farm and attended Grange Country School, Southeast of Sheldon. Mildred and her husband, Floyd, spent a lifetime farming and building their farm business. She worked tirelessly around the farm, helping with whatever chores were necessary. She will be especially remembered for her wonderful cooking abilities. Mildred was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Sheldon.

Survivors include four sons, Clinton Fowler, Larry Fowler, Eddie Fowler and Kerry Fowler, all of Sheldon; two daughters, Helen Leininger, Sheldon, and Janice Lundberg, Wichita, Kan.; 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Cecil Norwood, Sheldon, and two sisters, Marjorie Darrah, Nevada, and Betty Butler, Fort Worth, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 17, at the First Christian Church in Sheldon, with Ralph Shead and Andrew Kirschner officiating. Interment will follow at the Sheldon Cemetery, Sheldon. Friends may call now and until 12:30 p.m., on Friday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. The family will receive friends at the First Christian Church in Sheldon, on Friday between 1-2 p.m.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Sheldon, or to the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
