Ralph L. Spencer
Ralph L. Spencer, 88, Walker, Mo., died Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at Christian Health Care in Nevada, Mo., following a sudden illness. He was born May 20, 1917, in Illinois to Carl Spencer and Minnie May Florey Spencer. He married Ella Mae Milligan on April 12,1942, in Nevada, and she preceded him in death on March 27, 1997.
Ralph was born in Illinois. He moved to Walker in 1931 and graduated from Walker High School. He served in U.S. Army during World War II stationed in the Philippines. Ralph and his wife leased a farm in Walker and was a very hard working farmer for 35 years. He loved to vacation, farm, fish and gather with family to visit and tell stories. He was loved by all and will not be forgotten, but will be missed and in our hearts forever.
Survivors include his daughter Jackie Bailey and her husband Randy; grandchildren, Troy Bryson, Leon Bryson, Eric Bryson and wife Sheila, Toby Bryson, Bryan Bryson and wife Kim, and Misty Rothenberger; great-grandchildren, Desiree, Amber, Jake, Tommy Bryson and many more great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dean Spencer, Harrisonville, Mo., and Thornton Spencer, Nevada; two sisters, Thelma Wade and Wilma Kennedy; sister-in-law Minnie Spencer; numerous aunts, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Vernon Wade.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, March 20, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Tim Brewer officiating. Interment will follow it Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
