Wood, Babasa wed
Amelia Babasa and Bryan Wood were married on Nov. 5, 2005, in Historic Ybor City in Tampa, Fla. The ceremony was held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and the reception was held in the Grand Ballroom of L'Unione Italiana. The Rev. Thomas Stokes officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Benjamin Babasa and the late Lydia Babasa of Brooksville, Fla. She is a 1993 graduate of Hernando High School in Brooksville. She earned a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of South Florida in 1997.
The groom is the son of David Wood and the late Donna Wood of Nevada, Mo. He is a 1993 graduate of Nevada High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from Missouri State University in 1998.
The matron of honor was Margaret Babasa, sister of the bride, of Milan, Italy. Bridesmaids were Leslie Romero of Los Angeles, Calif., Velvet Ray of Spring Hill, Fla., Anita Surendran of Miami, Fla., Joelle Woody of Dacula, Ga., and Lisa Barry, sister of the groom, of Kansas City, Mo. The best man was Patrick Sperry of Chicago, Ill. Groomsmen were Darren Spaur of Chicago, Ill., Padraic McHugh of La Center, Wash., Corey Allard of Nevada, Mo., Mike Johnson of Richards, Mo., and Dave Barry of Kansas City, Mo.
The couple is planning a wedding trip to Italy and is residing in Atlanta, Ga.
