Decision affects Vernon County

The decision of the State Supreme Court declaring unconstitutional the law giving county courts authority to levy a 15 cent road tax effects Vernon County very materially.

The county recently had $1,100 road taxes against the Missouri Pacific railway company. The company refused to pay and the case went to the supreme court, where it will meet a fatal blow because this case rests upon the same law involved as the case decided by the court will leave Vernon County $1,100 poorer.
