Nevada tennis beats Carthage
CARTHAGE, Mo. -- Nevada's tennis team bounced back from a rough outing against Webb City Tuesday by knocking off a different Southwest Conference team. The Tigers took care of the other Tigers, from Carthage, by a score of 6-3.
Justdan Lockwood, Taylor Hall, Jake Holmes and Erik DeLaney each got singles victories to carry Nevada.
Lockwood knocked off Jeff Pinnell in No. 2 singles, 8-1.
Hall won at No. 3 singles, 8-2 over Curtis Westbay.
Holmes got past Justice Sanchez 8-2 at No. 4 singles.
DeLaney won at No. 5 singles over Joseph Enderle, 8-3.
The team of Hall and Holmes also won in No. 2 doubles, 8-0.
At No. 3 doubles DeLaney and Devin Ozkal also merged victorious, 8-3.
Ryan Kimbrough had a rough day, falling in No. 1 singles (8-1) and in doubles with Lockwood (9-7) against Mark Lingenfelter and Pinnell.
Ozkal dropped an 8-6 decision against Nikolai Kowacich at No. 6 singles.
The Tigers continued their march through conference play Thursday with a match at Neosho. They play today at the Thomas Jefferson tournament in Joplin.
