Murphy Family Ventures recently announced its support of the Osage Prairie YMCA Fill the Pool project by making a donation of $50,000. Dell Murphy, president; and Mike Wyant, vice president and director of production; presented a check April 26 to Tedd Maxfield, YMCA director; Dr. Warren Lovinger, YMCA funding chairperson; and Mike McCaffree, YMCA president.

"My family and I, and our entire company are proud to be able to support this worthy cause. The YMCA is dedicated to building strong children, strong families and strong communities. These are values that have been instilled in my family for many generations. We implemented these family oriented values into our business as our company was formed and will continue to incorporate them as we grow," said Murphy.

Murphy Family Ventures, with its corporate office in North Carolina, opened for business in December 2004 as a management company providing an array of support services to all businesses owned by the Murphy Family and others. Murphy Family Ventures is comprised of nine divisions: Golf and Recreation, Grain Sales, Hospitality Services, Land Development, Portable Storage, Support Services, Swine Production, Turkey Production, and Investment Management Services. The Murphy Family Ventures Missouri Operation, with more than 240 employees, focuses on swine production and consists of 15 sow farms, two nurseries and two finishers near Sheldon. The Murphy Family has been in the swine industry for more than 40 years. The MFV Missouri Swine Production Group is committed to employing and retaining people who want to apply their talents to the production of quality pork for the national food chain.

Wyant said, "We are very proud of our employees, which are our greatest asset. We appreciate the time and energy they contribute to our company as well as the many community activities in which they actively participate such as Relay for Life, 4-H, FFA, school and church programs, and youth sports. This donation to the YMCA is but one of the many important opportunities our business and employees have taken to give back to the communities in which we live. We believe that the project will have great value to our family of employees and the rest of the community."

"Murphy Family Ventures is committed to being a responsible employer and an active member of the community. Our focus is to create value driven and diverse growth, founded on a heritage of loyalty, integrity, efficiency, work ethic and family centered values," said Murphy.
