Officials salute Hoffman with flag, resolution

Friday, April 28, 2006
Burton Hoffman, 102, Moore-Few Care Center receives a letter from Missouri Governor Matt Blunt commending him for his long years of community service and a flag that has flown over the state capitol, delivered to Hoffman last week by State Representative Barney Fisher and a resolution from the city of Nevada delivered by Nevada Councilman Bill Edmonds. Fisher reminded Hoffman they used to be neighbors and Edmonds used to bowl with Hoffman. Hoffman thanked the two and quipped, "If I last until Aug. 7 I'll be 103. That's just too old."
