PSC sets hearing schedule in Aquila electric rate case

The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold hearings in February in an electric rate case filed by Aquila, Inc.
Hearings are scheduled for Feb. 5-9, 2007, and Feb. 12-16, 2007.
These hearings will be held in Room 310 of the Governor Office Building, 200 Madison Street in Jefferson City.
The Governor Office Building meets accessibility standards required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. If any person needs additional accommodations to participate in these hearings, please call the Public Service Commission's hotline at (800) 392-4211 (voice) or Relay Missouri at 711 prior to the hearings.
Applications to intervene and participate in this rate case must be filed no later than July 25, 2006, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, MO 65102.

On July 3, 2006, Aquila, Inc., filed an electric rate case with the Public Service Commission.
According to Aquila's news release, the electric company is seeking to increase annual electric revenues in its Missouri Public Service service area by approximately $94.5 million and by approximately $24.4 million in its SJLP (formerly St. Joseph Light & Power) service area.
According to the company, the requested rates would increase the bills of an MPS residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity a month by $21.19 a month.
For a SJLP residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity a month, Aquila says the increase would be $16.09 a month.
Aquila, Inc. provides electric service to approximately 235,500 customers in its MPS service area and to approximately 64,500 electric customers in its SJLP service area.
