Susan McBeth, Nevada Public Library director, announced Thursday that as of the end of June, the library had exceeded its $10,000 goal for the Dare to Dream Fund Campaign.

"We set a goal to raise $10,000 for the development of our nonfiction area. We raised $10,500. I am so excited to see how the community supported us, McBeth said."

The library is using the donated money in addition to budgeted money to update the nonfiction area with brand new materials.

McBeth started the campaign in March to run through to the end of the library's fiscal year, June 2006. Community members could purchase a book for $20, five books, for $100 and 25 books for $500.

"We have received boxes and boxes of new books. We really love the fact that so many of them will have the names of those who donated funds to the library's Dare to Dream drive inside the book's covers. The donors can't begin to know how much knowledge they have shared with the community by their donations. But the reader will know who helped them gain that knowledge. The reader can see the donor's name on the bookplate inside the book," McBeth said. "The board of directors, the staff and I are so grateful to all who gave."
