Brenda Kay McCarthy

Brenda Kay McCarthy, 55, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, at Nevada Medicalodge following a lengthy illness. She was born July 10, 1951, in Nevada to Ansel Delbert Rogers and Wilma Bowles Rogers. She and James Nolan McCarthy were married on May 16,1970, in Nevada. He preceded her in death in June 1979.

Brenda was born and reared in Nevada and spent most of her life here. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1969 and recently received an Associate of Art from Crowder College. Brenda worked for 27 years at Fram Automotive in Nevada.

Survivors include six sisters, Patricia McClellen, Neosho, Mo., Shirley Thompson, Nevada, Bonnie Bott, Moundville, Mo., Donna Lutes, Nevada, Mary Dighero, Bolivar, Mo., and Connie Oliver, Fort Scott, Kan.; one brother, Delbert Rogers, Nevada; numerous nieces and nephews; also close friends, Julie and Bill Holland and family of Nevada.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with William Cox officiating. Friends may call now and until 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. The family receives friends 7-8 p.m., Tuesday evening, Sept. 19, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
