Mid-school volleyball busy lately

The Nevada Middle School seventh-grade volleyball team finished second during their own tournament Saturday.
The Lady Tigers beat Joplin South and Carl Junction in pool play, then split with Joplin Memorial, but won the first seed by a coin flip.
Joplin Memorial went on to beat Nevada in the championship match, 25-11, 27-25, to win the tournament.
Nevada beat Joplin South 15-6, 15-6. The Lady Tigers then won 15-7, 15-7 over Carl Junction.
The pool-play match with Joplin Memorial had each team winning a game by a 16-14 score.
The seventh graders had also split with Carl Junction in a match Thursday. The B team lost 19-25, 25-23, 25-20. The A team won 25-19, 25-17.
Against Webb City Monday, the seventh graders also split. B team lost 25-27, 25-21, 25-20. The A team won 25-20, 25-12.
The eighth grade A team lost to Webb City, 25-13, 25-12. The B team won 20-25, 25-21, 25-20.
