Cottey College is planning to host back-to-back nights of comedy through two shows scheduled for Oct. 2 and 3.
On Oct. 2, Judson Laipply, who was originally scheduled to appear in September, will be performing at 9 p.m., in the Raney Dining Room.
According to promotional materials provided by Cottey College, "Combining his thoughts about life and change with humor, Laipply's presentation will have you inspired and laughing at the same times. His finale is not to be missed."
Laipply is also the creator and performer of "The Evolution of Dance, " an Internet video that has amassed more than 10 million views in fewer than two weeks.
Tickets for Laipply's show are $4 for adults and $3 for those under age 18 or over age 64, and are available at the door the night of the show.
Raney Dining Room is in the lower level of Robertson Hall on the southeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada. Parking is available in the lot immediately south of Robertson Hall, which is accessible from Tower Street.
On Oct. 3, David Mann, described as all of those "goofy characters who went to high school with you," is scheduled to bring his repertoire of humor, titled "Revelations of Mann" to Cottey College, at 8 p.m., in the auditorium of the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts.
Promoters describe Mann's show as an opportunity to "meet a yearbook full of characters in David Mann's hilarious recollections of his first years teaching theater at a Minnesota Catholic high school. Over the past decade, his solo shows have become a guaranteed great night out. 'Revelations' is his most popular, enduring show, appealing to audiences who are still in high school or to those who graduated long ago."
Tickets for "Revelations of Mann" are $6 for adults and $5 for those under age 18 or over age 64, and are available at the door the night of the show.
The Center for the Arts is located on the northeast corner of Austin and Tower streets, Nevada.
