LeWanna Mae Cartwright

LeWanna Mae Cartwright, 84, Nevada, Mo., passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada, following a brief illness. She was born Oct. 13,1922, in Nevada, to Richard W. Locke and Ruby Gladys McWilliams Locke. She married Clifford L. "Pete" Cartwright Sr. on Aug. 28, 1940, in Nevada. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2003.

LeWanna grew up in Nevada, attended Nevada schools, and lived her whole life in Nevada. She worked at Key Work Clothes for 25 years. She later went to work at Nevada State Hospital for 15 years until her retirement.

Survivors include one son, Clifford Cartwright Jr. and his wife Cindy, Nevada; one daughter, Linda Bozworth and her husband Rick, Nevada; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Joe Locke, Wellington, Kan. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruby Jean Cornell; two brothers, Darrell Cartwright, and Buell Cartwright; and one sister, Lorene Crouse.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 19, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with pastor Mike Hutchens officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
