Anne Carolyn (Bryant) Dawson
Anne Carolyn (Bryant) Dawson passed away Oct. 9, 2006, in Nevada, Mo., after a brief battle with cancer, at the age of 73. She was born Oct. 13, 1932, in Kansas City, Mo., she was born to E. Lennos Bryant and the late Nadine (Brown) Bryant.
She graduated from Madison High School in 1950 and Central College in 1955, BME. She married Ronald Dawson in 1955; to this union three children were born. She worked in the education field holding various positions. She gave private piano lessons in Nevada; director of finance, Cottey College, Nevada; English literature and composition, Wentworth Junior College satellite classes in Nevada; English literature and composition, Fort Scott Community College, Fort Scott, Kan.; and substituted for various schools in the Nevada area. She continued her education and graduated from Missouri Southern in 1936, BSE; and from Pittsburgh State University in 1989, MA. Anne was a member of the Phi Beta Fine Arts fraternity.
She is survived by her three children, Stephanie Gosney and Leroy Felten, Glasgow, Mo., Leona and Bob Roggensees, Nevada, Greg and Amie Dawson, Sedalia, Mo.; grandchildren, Valerie and Scott Simpson, Kimberly Gosney, David Gosney, Alicia Channing, and Brianna Dawson; stepgrandchildren, Elizabeth, Michael, Trevor and Rob Role, Alexandra Cooper; one great-granddaughter due in October; one aunt, Ruth Brown; and various cousins in the Madison, Mo., area.
Friends may call at the Heuser Funeral Home, Saturday, Oct. 21, from 4-6 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
